Bugema University Church

Our Story

Bugema University Church was established in 1948 as part of Bugema University, one of the oldest Seventh-day Adventist institutions of higher learning in East Africa. Since then, we have been serving the spiritual needs of the university community and the surrounding areas.

Over the years, our church has grown from a small congregation to a vibrant community of believers committed to spreading the gospel and serving others. We have been blessed to see many lives transformed through our ministry.

Today, Bugema University Church continues to be a beacon of hope and a center for spiritual growth, offering various programs and services to meet the diverse needs of our congregation and community.

Our Mission

To share the love of Jesus Christ, nurture spiritual growth, and serve our community through worship, fellowship, education, and outreach.

Our Vision

To be a Christ-centered community where people of all backgrounds can experience God's love, grow in their faith, and be equipped to serve others.

Our History

1948

Church Founding

Bugema University Church was established alongside Bugema University to serve the spiritual needs of students and staff.

1965

First Church Building

The first permanent church building was constructed to accommodate the growing congregation.

1982

Community Outreach

The church expanded its ministry to include community outreach programs, serving the surrounding areas.

1998

50th Anniversary

Celebrated 50 years of ministry with special events and the launch of new programs.

2010

New Sanctuary

Completed construction of our current sanctuary to accommodate the growing congregation.

2023

75th Anniversary

Celebrating 75 years of ministry and looking forward to continued growth and service.

Our Leadership

Pastor John Doe

Senior Pastor

Pastor John has been leading our congregation since 2015. He is passionate about teaching God's word and helping people grow in their faith.

Pastor Jane Smith

Associate Pastor

Pastor Jane oversees our youth ministry and community outreach programs. She is dedicated to helping young people develop a strong faith.

Elder David Johnson

Head Elder

Elder David has served our church for over 20 years. He coordinates our worship services and provides spiritual leadership.

Sarah Williams

Worship Director

Sarah leads our worship team and is passionate about creating meaningful worship experiences that honor God.
